The Elections Office is responsible for the conduct of elections for which the Registrar is Returning Officer.

Nomination forms, election rules and procedures and notices of election results and calls for nomination are available on the elections website.

The aim of the elections is to provide for the democratic representation of certain groups of the University on various key committees. Elections conducted are:

• Student, Staff and Graduate members to the University Council
• Student and Academic Staff members to the Academic Board
• Student members to Faculty Boards

The Elections Office is responsible to the Returning Officer for:

• scheduling elections
• calling for nominations
• conducting a ballot when necessary
• counting votes
• publishing the result of the election when it has been declared
